Omschrijving
Google heeft kwetsbaarheden verholpen in Google Chrome (versies voor 137.0.7151.68).
De kwetsbaarheden bevinden zich in de V8-engine en Blink van Google Chrome. De eerste kwetsbaarheid betreft out of bounds read en write problemen die kunnen leiden tot heap corruptie. Dit kan door een kwaadwillende worden misbruikt door speciaal vervaardigde HTML-pagina's te leveren, wat de beveiliging van de browser kan compromitteren. De tweede kwetsbaarheid betreft een use-after-free probleem in Blink, wat ook kan leiden tot heap corruptie en ongeautoriseerde toegang en manipulatie van geheugen mogelijk maakt.
Van de kwetsbaarheid met kenmerk CVE-2025-5419 meldt Google informatie te hebben dat deze als zeroday-kwetsbaarheid actief is misbruikt.
Oplossingen
Google heeft updates uitgebracht om de kwetsbaarheden te verhelpen. Microsoft heeft updates uitgebracht om de kwetsbaarheden te verhelpen in Edge (Chromium Based). Zie bijgevoegde referenties voor meer informatie.
